I understand our guild is all legit and we don't like hacking, but I thought I would give you this little lesson about hackers I learned years before playing maple.
There are 2 types of hackers in the world....white hats and black hats. Knowing the difference is important.
Black hats are the most common hackers. They are the "bad guys" as you would put it. They hack to cause damage to others and only to help themselves. They are the kind that hack into other people's computers and steal stuff and mess things up. When you had your idenity stolen from your online bank accounbt or your password and pin cracked in maple, you can thank a Black Hat for that. Refer to story #1 for black hat example.
White hats on the other hand are the "good guys". They hack to help others and fix things. Most likely every computer, big buisiness, and government has some of these employed. Their main job is to protect thier employing companys network from Black Hats and viruses. For exsample, if there was a company with a new product that was top secret and was worth billions and it was in their network, and other companys wanted to steal it, the White Hats would use their hacking skills to prevent any hacking attempts to get it by Black Hats. As for games like Maple Story, When someone's account was stolen and the pin changed by a black hat, a white hat would crack the new pin the black hat made and give it back to the original owner. As for in game play, A white hat would be someone that hacks to help others. Refer to story #2 for a white hat example.

Back in September on my Broa account, I was in the FM and i had my Stars and Stripes weapon. a player named JMTR asked me to come with him and told me he wanted to take a screen cap of me. He told me to drop flag so he could take screen cap. When I did he item vacced it and fled. He was a Black Hat.
~Story #2~
This was witnessed by LukkPip. Back in early November (i think), Rabbit (lukk's old ign) was in kerning subway. there was a hacker above the level vaccing the monsters. Noone was able to train. Then a Female player came and vacced all the monsters back to the area so people could train. While most players would report or defame hackers, everyone thanked her and some even famed her. She was a White Hat.
